Our goldador, Wyatt, is a lot of dog - sweet, but couldn’t manage his energy. While we’re still fine tuning a few things since his 21 day board and train, we are enjoying him SIGNIFICANTLY more now and he seems so much happier. We took him to Carrier Park recently and noticed several dog owners struggling with dogs pulling, whining, and just generally not listening to them. It reminded me of how we used to struggle with Wyatt, despite working diligently to train him on our own for nearly 1.5 years. I felt so relieved that we’re not struggling like that anymore! Chris and his team at Asheville Dog Academy did wonders with Wyatt. In addition to being much more manageable in public, he’s so much calmer at home as well. While quite the investment, totally worth the money! Chris has made it clear that this is a lifetime guarantee and we’re confident that he’ll continue to work with us and Wyatt, as/if needed.

June 5, 2020I took my fun loving, one year, 3 month old puppy Gracie to see Chris and his team for the 21 Day Board and Train Program, and I am OVER THE MOON happy with the results! She had the normal puppy behaviors including zooming across all furniture, jumping up on people she greeted in and out of the home, and pulling constantly on the leash. Chris and his team helped make outings and even home life more enjoyable with this training. It was a night and day difference, and all my friends and family can attest to this!! You can truly see how much the team at Asheville Dog Academy cares for dogs and their ability to enjoy life to the fullest through this training. It relieves stress and uncertainty for both owner and dog. Chris has been there to answer all of my questions before, during, and after the process and provides 100% customer satisfaction. This process includes training the owners as well, and they have made me more comfortable in my abilities with our follow up sessions. I would recommend Asheville Dog Academy to anyone and everyone and honestly cannot say enough about how grateful I am to them!!

February 16, 2020I can’t say enough good things, just go see Chris and hire him to train your dogs. The board and train may seem expensive at first glance, but it’s worth every penny!!!! Your dog will obey you better which will make you happy and you will reward them more and enjoy interacting with them in a whole new way which will make your dog happy. From the first time we met, it was clear that Chris cares greatly for the dogs he works with. After we picked her up, he took plenty of time to sit down with us and “train” us on everything that he had worked with Bella on. And if that wasn’t enough, he also scheduled follow up appointments for us to come back and practice things some more with Bella and him. Chris takes pride in his work, and stands behind what he promises. He is straight forward and will tell you what things the dog needs to work on and what things us parents need to work on. He’s not going to sugar coat it, he’s going to tell you what is best for you and your dog. If we rescue any other puppies in the future, Chris will be our first call!

Amazing. Amazing results! Our dog is totally obidient . He stays in place, heels while walking, comes back when called. Chris is a great trainer who made our dog obeying all our commands on the first day out. Money well spent! Thank you Chris. Pure magic. I don’t know how it is possible! I would recommend extremely strongly - sign up your dog , you will be surprised how much your dog will learn. It totally exceeded my expectations.

After Asheville Dog Academy, he is a dream to take out on the town. Chris did exactly what we asked and much more. I would recommend Asheville Dog Academy time and time again. Chris and his team are amazing! We adopted our dog in April and sat down with Chris for a consolation. He was able to meet answer all of our questions, explain his methods and set out minds at ease that we too could have a well trained pup. We opted for the 21 day board and boy was it worth the wait! We were updated daily with photos, videos and words of encouragement. It was so nice to see our dogs progress while he was away. In the weeks following his training, Chis has been not only checking in with us but he has been available when we’ve had questions. If I could give six stars I would and I would recommend Chris and his team to any dog owner.

October 8, 2019We are overjoyed to see what Chris and the staff at Asheville Dog Academy have accomplished with our dog, Skeeter, a terrier mix, during the 3 week boarding boot camp! Skeeter started with the puppy primer at 8 weeks of age. Chris was patient and kind when he came to our house for training. We learned basic commands and reward strategies. We moved onto the boot camp to reinforce these desirable behaviors (sitting, staying, healing) and expand upon them. We are in awe of the transformation from unruly puppy to controlled and very happy young adult. What Chris accomplished in 3 weeks attests to his deep understanding of animal behavior and his intensive hard work. After completing the course, Chris spent two hours with our family teaching and practicing the commands until we felt comfortable to continue at home. Chris is available and quick to respond to questions. We loved being kept up to date with Skeeter’s progress with plenty of pictures and videos. In summary, we highly recommend the Asheville Dog Academy!

March 1, 2019My dog used to bark at everything, pull my arm on every walk, jump all over people as they walked in the door and was uncontrollable. Now after 21 days with Chris. My dog can heal while he ignores dogs and cars that are passing. He can be told to place for over an hour, which is so helpful while guest are over or dinner is being made. He learned door manners and many more great behaviors. The best thing of all though is he is so calm and so relaxed. He is still playful and has his life to him that I love but its manageable and is now always at the right time and place. I can not thank Chris enough for all the work on my dog. The results are worth every penny!
